Protecting people - what’s your reason?

Why health & safety?

My answer is through security & particularly one incident where our vehicle was ambushed & we all lived to tell the tale.

I get asked why do I study so obsessively? Same incident. To work out HOW decisions are made. To find out WHY outcomes are what they are. To use my understanding to protect others. Leaving school with no quals is NOT a barrier - life is a marathon not a sprint. Having your children attend your graduation is one hell of a feeling.

Although challenged, in psychology its been said ‘the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour’ - is this why ex military/police often follow a path to occupational health & safety?

Swapping a ballistic helmet for a construction helmet - same horse different jockey.

To all who work to protect people - it’s Mental Health Awareness Week - what if for 1 week of the year you took time to look out for YOU also? Without YOU being you, you’ll cease to make a difference for others.

Self Assessment - it’s not just for tax! -

… time for a walk & to reflect over ‘perception’.

To past colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice during & after protecting others - We will never forget.
