Policy before the risk assessment? Chicken before the egg?
To mandate the much requested Coronavirus (COVID-19) Risk Assessment (current version 5.0), we have added our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Risk Assessment Policy.
As with previous documentation, this is available for free download, in Microsoft Word Format, for ease of editing.
Recently we have been asked by multiple clients, customers and partners if we are assessing the risk from COVID-19, which has led to me developing this Risk Assessment Policy for dissemination.
This Policy follows the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid!) principle, but importantly includes responsibilities regarding the risk management and risk assessment process surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
It also contains links to supporting legislation and guidance.
In drafting this document, I have reflected on many past conversations/debates with risk management practitioners on which came first: The policy or the risk assessment? … The chicken or the egg.
As can be seen on this occasion, it appears the egg arrived before the chicken! — (POPMAR, PDCA, CLPSOPI)
