‘Safety as Planned’ vs. ‘Safety as Done’

Due to the many downloads of the Free PCR Global COVID-19 Information and Risk Assessment, I thought it may be beneficial to share our current experience of consulting in workplaces that are deemed essential and remain open. (see right for free downloads)

In this very brief video I outline the relationship between the written risk assessment, written safe working practices and their actual implementation - the 'Ground truth'.

I discuss the PCR Global Approach to best ensure risk assessments and procedures aren't 'tablets of stone' that gather dust and there just to satisfy 'compliance'

At PCR Global we follow three simple steps:

  1. Observation

  2. Document review

  3. Discussions / Interview

… in any order, we aren't fussy!

I also emphasise the critical importance of listening to employees in these worrying times - when this is over, we will be remembered for our actions, and non-actions.

I hope the content is of use - if not, it means Andrew Collins had a day 'playing' on his computer for nothing, while I just had to talk for 6 minutes!

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Productive.
