Walk 'n' Talk: CONTEXT
Real Risk Management | Walk ‘n’ Talk | Context
Author: Andrew Protheroe
I often refer to the importance of considering the ‘context’ of situations. ISO31000 emphasises Context as the start of the risk management process 'Establish the Context'
What is Context? we could possibly replace the term with with ‘circumstance’. "The circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea & in terms of which it can be fully understood"
In the next few video’s I will discuss the HLS clauses (High Level Structure) / Harmonious Structure of ISO (Context Leadership Planning Support Operations Performance evaluation Improvement)
Starting with Context
Clause 4 CONTEXT of the organisation
4.1 Understanding the organisation and its context
- PESTLE Analysis, SWOT Analysis
4.2 Understanding the needs & expectations of interested parties - Stakeholder Analysis - Determine which of these needs and expectations are, or could become, legal requirements and other requirements
4.3 Determine the SCOPE of the management system
- Boundaries and applicability
4.4 Management system
Establish, implement, maintain & continually improve a management system.
Also, 'Incongruence' - worth looking up.
