SMSTS | ASSESSMENT

The CITB Site Safety Plus SMSTS is assessed in three ways. These are tutor assessment (ongoing, based on your participation), four core exercises (completed during the course) and the end of course assessment.

Pre-Course Assessment

CITB ‘What Do You Know?’ - Mock Assessment

We strongly recommend all students complete this What You Know mock assessment. By completing this, both you and the tutor will gain an understanding of areas that you’ll potentially need to ‘brush up on’.

This can be used by the tutor to provide better support and guidance throughout the course, and as a guide to assist with your personal study.

To complete the mock assessment simply click this button to open, fill and submit your answers

End of Course Assessment

About the Assessment

Your end of course assessment consists of one exam paper, consisting of 25 questions. Exam papers consist of:

mostly multiple choice papers, with some short answer questions to finish.

  • 18 Multiple choice questions

  • 7 Short written questions

Most questions will be worth one mark. Questions worth more will be identified on the exam paper.

The pass mark for the final assessment is 80% (28 marks out of 35). A re-sit will be available to you if you score is 25-27, or score above this, but incorrectly answer a safety critical question.

Completing the Assessment

CITB Virtual Classroom Examinations are completed using Microsoft Forms.

  • At the end of the final Zoom session the tutor will provide you with a clickable link to access the exam paper.

  • Click the link to access the paper.

  • Do not commence the examination until instructed to do so.

  • Once complete, ensure your details are correct at the bottom of the form and click submit.

You are permitted to refer to the supporting publication, Construction site supervision (GE700), during the last 10 minutes of the examination period.
